Shelf of Gold - Classics Collection

A while ago, I was in my room staring in awe at my humble shelf of classics. And it hit me just how much has happened over the years. If you asked me 5 years ago if I read classic literature, my answer would self-deprecatingly be "no, that's too much for my little brain to comprehend". Back then, I thought classics were too good for me and way above my league, until I gave them a few tries and learned to appreciate them. I think it goes to show how things are scary until you're there trying and failing and succeeding.
What more, a few years back, I did not have a single book of any genre in my possession - which I talked about in my first ever blog. I live in a province where books are not very accessible to the public. So, I would daydream for hours and long to read and collect my own books. And now here I am with my very own shelves! Yes, I have two shelves full of books, and even have book stacks scattered across my room. I bought them on my own, along as some of which were gifted to me by my precious few friends.
It is fulfilling to think about how far we've become. It is easy to miss the little progress while we're busy chasing the dream. But as I take a moment and ponder, I saw that I have achieved something, and it counts.
Btw, I think I need more books. And shelf decors.
